2025 Yachting Trips/Cruises:
ROUND THE SOLENT PRACTICE AND SAILING WEEKEND

Here’s a quick write-up of our sailing trip over the bank holiday weekend.
We spent a few days exploring the Solent, with stops in Yarmouth, Cowes, Bembridge and up the Hamble and Beaulieu Rivers. Along the way, we got the chance to practice plenty of sailing techniques — including goosewinging downwind and even flying the colourful cruising chute ??. Having done our day skipper course in Greece, sailing with tides was definitely a new challenge.
Maurice got hoisted up the mast to fix electric cables, Robin showed off some expert parking skills with a smooth ferry glide in the Hamble, and we learned a ton from both them both in just a short 4 days.
A huge thank you to Maurice for having us onboard the Brisbane Star, and thank you to both Maurice and Robin for the patient teaching (and the fun and rum!). We came away with more confidence and can’t wait for the next trip
